[ Recco Helmet Reflector ] Recco Reflector technology makes you searchable to rescuers in case of an avalanche or if you get lost outdoors, The small, band-aid-sized reflector weighs less than 4 grams. Made to mount to your outdoor helmet or gear that is unlikely to be torn off in the event of an outdoor accident. [ Be Searchable ] By wearing a RECCO reflector, you allow search teams to locate you using either a RECCO handheld detector or a RECCO SAR helicopter detector. [ How it works ] The system consists of two parts: the detector sends out a radar signal, which is echoed back by the RECCO reflector, guiding rescuers to your exact location. [ Intended Use ] This Recco Reflector has been designed to be attached to your ski or outdoor Helmet. RECCO Technology is not a substitute for an avalanche transceiver [ How Recco has Evolved ] First introduced in 1983 for avalanche rescues, RECCO technology has evolved significantly. Since 2015, RECCO has expanded its capabilities with helicopter detectors that can efficiently search large areas. RECCO handheld detectors are currently used by 900+ ski resorts and rescue organisations worldwide, and helicopter detectors are used across Europe and North America.
